Preparing for Parenthood: The Booger Poem

No one is ever totally ready to be a parent. But I feel like the fact that I grew up with a sister who was 8 years younger than me helped to prepare me a bit. I also majored in Family and Consumer Sciences in college which included a large section of courses dedicated to childhood development, psychology and parenting.

To help fill in the holes Arna and I have been reading:

Note Gracie in the background!

My friend also purchased me this book:

Which has been a source of endless entertainment.

I feel like I'm well on my way to being a good Mom. This morning while getting ready for work I came up with a rap/poem about proper nasal hygiene. It goes like this:

I got a nose full of boogies
and it's ready to blow
Gotta do something fast
Because it's starting to show

Don't use your fingers on your boogies
That would be bad

Let a Kleenex do the job
and then wash your hands!

What do you think? I performed it for Arna while he was still in bed and he laughed and said I was adorable and then that I was weird. I think that means it's perfect for a child. Kids learn well through rhythm and music right? Right.
