On Friday we went to the mall and tore up the Motherhood Maternity store. My belly is now to the size where normal tops are becoming too short and none of my dresses fit anymore! I am now well equipped for the Summer and hopefully for most of my pregnancy. My favorite item that I got was for sure this dress:
Arna kept checking on Leah and I in the store because apparently we were in there for like two hours. I doubt it though - it didn't seem like it at least. I was trying clothes as fast as humanly possible.
There was another woman who was there looking for a dress to wear that was form-fitting. When I would come out of the dressing room to show Leah how something looked, the woman would ask where I'd gotten the dress. Most of the things that I was trying on the sales woman had pulled for me, so I didn't know but Leah told me later that she was tempted to say, "It's not the dress, it's her! She just looks cute in everything!" She earned major points for that comment!
On Saturday we made the hour long drive to the nearest Babys R Us. Arna and I had our first experience with trying to figure out carseats as in..."How the hell does this work?" and "What does this button do?" The answer to the latter question being: it causes the carseat base to come crashing down - narrowly avoiding Arna's toes.
We also scoped out cribs and found one that we really like but we're going to try and find it online for cheaper than it was in the store:
It might not be this exact one, but it was really similiar.
We were pretty sure which co-sleeper we wanted, but after seeing it in the store we decided that we needed some more time to think about it.
So far, the baby is still without a place to sleep however we did pick out a changing table:
It looks like this but we bought it in white. I didn't want the furniture to be overly matchy - and Arna thought it would be better to get it in a light color so we could tell when it was "dirty" aka if there was poop on it.
We also found our diaper bag! Arna said it looked a little bit too much like a purse for his comfort but when compared to all of the others (and I mean ALL of the other ones in the store) it looked like it would work best for us:
I was looking online and it didn't get great reviews, which I wish I would've known before we bought it but look at all of the compartments!
Just a few more weeks and we'll find out whether we have a little guy or gal cookin' and we can start on the part that I am looking forward to the most: DECORATING. I can't wait to make that side bedroom look like babyland!
Lastly, here is the weekly belly picture:
I've started to feel little twitches and wiggles. I know it's still supposed to be a little early but I swear this baby is bigger than normal because I can definitely feel him/her moving around in there. I can't wait until it's pronounced enough for Arna to feel. It's a wonderful feeling. We have a little dancer/kickboxer that's for sure!
