Four Months

Bluma keeps me busy. She is growing so quickly. If I think about it too much, I start to get teary-eyed. I think that human beings are at their best when they are babies. She's so sweet and full of pure emotion and curiosity. It's wonderful to be around. She's at that age where everything goes into her mouth. It's gross, but what can you do?

She has learned many things since the last time I updated. Some of them are:

- Saying "mum" when she's sad/crying, and occasionally when she's happy. I know that it's just a sound that she's trying out, that she's not purposefully calling to me...yet. But it's still so cool to hear.

- Grasping and holding objects. She can bring them to her mouth and hold them in front of her eyes to see. She still drops them but she's getting better every day.

- Screeching, hollaring, and a vast assortment of very loud noises.

- She says, "Ooo!" whenever she gets excited.

- She head butts.

- She's able to play with her toys, as opposed to just looking at them.

- She grabs for her toes and tries to put them in her mouth.

...and as of today, she can roll from her front to her back! She did it for the first time at about 2pm this afternoon and I became so excited I felt a little nauseated. I'm not going to lie. I never thought that a baby rolling would be that thrilling, but it was.

Also for first time, I set her down awake in her crib for a nap and she has been asleep in there for about 20 minutes. Usually, she will not sleep during the day unless she is being held, or I manage to very carefully place her in her crib after she has fallen into a deep sleep.

Seeing her mature is bittersweet. I'd love for her to be capable of napping on her own without much effort on my part, but truthfully, I'm happy to hold her while she sleeps. She gets bigger and bigger every day. I can tell that the day when she no longer needs me for everything is going to come too fast as it is. I don't want to rush her.
